Kids at the Glynne Primary School in Wordsley enjoyed a bug-themed children's fancy dress event recently to top off a week full of minibeasts.

The pupils donned everything from Butterfly Wings to bumblebee outfits to take part in the party, which took place on May 14th, the Stourbridge News reports.

Linda Hickman, who helped coordinate the day, said the children had been learning all about minibeasts, using practical activities to help them understand all kinds of creepy-crawlies.

"We've had a really fun-packed week," she commented.

One little boy came to the fancy dress day dressed as a fly, but - in good news for the teachers - he opted out of a full, terrifying Bugeye Mask in favour of sunglasses.

After all, it would have been hard to see times tables and spellings when you've got compound eyes!

Why not use this as inspiration for your own children's fancy dress event?
