The film fancy dress Sir Anthony Hopkins had to wear for new movie Thor tired him out completely, he has revealed.

In an interview with Collider, the 73-year-old said he was required to don weight-laden armour to play the part of ruler Odin, but he definitely knew about it afterwards.

"They had steep steps - that was quite tiring because it's about twenty-five to thirty pounds you're carrying around with you all day and you can't really take much of a rest," he commented.

However, Sir Anthony added that he was very impressed upon seeing the costumes for the first time on the set at Manhattan Beach and that he felt like a god when he was all dressed up.

Thor is directed by Kenneth Branagh and is to come out in the UK on April 27th 2011.

Sir Anthony is of course best known for his Hannibal Lecter fancy dress in Silence of the Lambs, which saw him voted number one film villain ever by the American Film Institute in 2007.
