They may have something of a hard-nut image, but a group of Harley-Davidson riders showed their softer side this week by wearing Christmas fancy dress.

According to the South Yorkshire Star, the bikers headed along to Doncaster Children's Hospital yesterday (December 13th 2010) in order to give out pressies to poorly youngsters.

Not only did they delight onlookers with their bikes, but they also brought some classic cars with them, including a pink Cadillac and a miniature bus.

The image of such a convoy together with people in Father Christmas fancy dress is sure to have been a sight for sore eyes.

However, it is notable that the names of the Harley-Davidson riders were not revealed by the publication, perhaps in a bid to retain that afore-mentioned image!

Harley-Davidson was founded in Wisconsin in the US during the first part of the 20th century.

It later became one of the two major American motorcycle manufacturers to survive the Depression of the 1930s.
