People around the country are no doubt thinking of the many ways they can celebrate the forthcoming nuptials between Prince William and Kate Middleton.

While some may be in the throes of organising a street party, others are using the royal wedding as an excuse to get out their favourite fun fancy dress costumes.

One such place that intends to go all out on April 29th this year is Middleton's local pub in Bucklebury, The Old Ship Inn.

Punters have been invited to test their creative skills with a fancy dress competition at the public house as part of its Royal Wedding Party, taking place that day, according to the BBC.

Children could dress up like princes or princesses, while ladies have been challenged to find the greatest (and biggest) headwear they can find in the Best Royal Wedding Hat competition.

People who can't make it to the party the day William ties the knot with his long-term sweetheart could instead put on royal fancy dress outfit and go on the Kate Middleton Country tour, taking in the sites of the Berkshire village the future Queen grew up in.
