The forthcoming nuptials of Prince William and Kate Middleton have presented a great excuse for people to get out their fun fancy dress costumes.

This is what residents of Norsey View Drive in Billericay plan to do as the Echo has reported that locals are intending to hold a huge street party on April 29th 2011.

As well as having a tea party on the public holiday as the pair tie the knot, residents have decided to go all out and celebrate by putting on their wildest costumes.

People could come in superhero fancy dress, Disney outfits or even as royal figures to mark the historic event.

Jane Cook is spearheading the plans and told the newspaper: "The children, especially, will love it, as we are going to get them to dress up as kings and queens."

The royal wedding seems to be becoming a popular excuse to take out your favourite costumes as Middleton's local pub in Bucklebury, The Ship Inn, is holding a fancy dress competition to celebrate their former resident become a Queen.
