Comedic performer Weird Al Yankovic delighted his fans in Winnipeg this week with performances of almost all his hit songs in fun fancy dress. The 50-year-old - who has earned a cult following thanks to his parodies of pop songs - took to the stage of the MTS Centre to perform in a two-hour show which incorporated classics such as White and Nerdy and Eat It. Melissa Martin of the Winnipeg Free Press said he made his way through a startling range of outfits, from a Spongebob Squarepants fancy dress costume to a fatsuit. He also donned a tiger-striped leisure suit for Wanna B Ur Lovr. "Some of the costumes added a gloriously goofy touch to a pretty exhaustive two-hour show," Ms Martin commented. Weird Al has earned three Grammy Awards during his 30-year career and reached the US Billboard top ten with the album Straight Outta Lynwood in 2006. His biggest-selling single White and Nerdy was also released the same year.
