An actress has said she loves wearing children's fancy dress because she enjoys the response from her young audiences.
Poppy Jhakra is starring in the Aladdin panto in Worthing this Christmas and she plays Jasmine, the royal who just wants to experience life outside the palace, leading her to meet young 'street rat' Aladdin.
She told the Shoreham Herald that little girls love the princess fancy dress and the rags to riches tale in particular.
"It's a wonderful story that will go on forever - a great love story and with it being set in the East, it is also very colourful and bright with the sights and the costumes," Poppy commented.
Last month, it was reported that a man in pink princess fancy dress had won the title of national Scrabble champion.
Despite his frilly outfit, he proved he was no pushover by beating his opponent with words including 'obeisant'.
