A police detective and his brother have said they intend to wear superhero fancy dress for the London Marathon this year in order to raise money for charity and break a record.
Rue Jones will don a Robin costume while Matthew Jones is to sport Batman fancy dress for the 26-mile race in April, the Bolton News reports.
They are doing it all for the Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP) Association, a charity that raises funds and awareness for a rare neurological disorder that their grandmother suffered from during the final years of her life.
Not content with just fundraising though, they also want to try and take the Guinness World Record for the fastest marathon as a superhero duo.
Rue explained that the choice of Batman outfits was largely a practical one.
"It is less clothing than a lot of other fancy dress costumes," he explained, adding that he hopes they look more like George Clooney and Chris O'Donnell than Del Boy and Rodney during the race.
According to the PSP Association, more than 10,000 people in the UK are currently living with the condition.
