Festivalgoers in Derbyshire have helped to smash a world record for the biggest number of people in one place wearing fancy dress beards.More than 1,000 people donned facial hair at the Bearded Theory Musical Festival over the weekend as they listened to great music, This is Derbyshire reports.
Organiser Michael Eccleshall said the three-day event was bigger and better than ever before.
"It has been a fantastic weekend. The weather has been kind to us and we have had about a third more people here this year … We have set a world record for fancy dress beards in the process," he commented.
The Cheeky Girls were in attendance at the festival and got into the spirit by putting on beards themselves.
Their styles looked a lot like Pirates of the Caribbean beards, but we also spotted plenty of really bushy beards which could definitely be re-used should the wearers ever take part in an Amish event!
