Instead of the usual costumes this festive season, revellers could opt for film fancy dress to add some interest to their outfits.
This is the suggestion of Technabob, which said popular costumes from stage and screen may go down a treat with family and friends this Christmas.
It particularly recommended wearing things from Doctor Who episodes past and present, with the Tardis and Daleks definite favourites.
By way of encouragement, the website pictured a pair of partygoers dressed as characters from the frightening TV show.
"Good work, girls! All 11 Doctors would approve," it commented.
This comes after the Worksop Guardian reported that a little boy had won a competition at his local library by sporting Cyberman fancy dress during a Doctor Who fun day.
A Matt Smith lookalike even turned up to entertain the children and pretend they had ventured into their own Time Lord adventure - libraries are certainly a lot more fun these days!
