A sports reporter has said he is pleased to be involved with a new season of rugby, in part because of the fans in fun fancy dress. Austin Healey of ESPN Rugby told Scrum.com he had great fun pitchside last weekend, particularly with supporters embracing the party atmosphere in their costumes. "That's what rugby is. It's people who are good-natured having a good laugh," he commented. Perhaps controversially, Austin said football followers aren't as much fun as rugby supporters and can't produce the same carnival feeling at games. Meanwhile, the expert also commented on one reader's remark about the ESPN crew being a little like the A Team. Although Austin said Ben Kay may not look out of place in Mr T fancy dress, he joked that Durders is too old and not good-looking enough to emulate Face. Perhaps these cheeky comments could provide rugby fans with ideas for fun fancy dress at next weekend's games - we'll keep an eye open for a few Mohawks in the crowds.
