The 29-year-old defender took his wife Toni and their four-year-old twins to the Magic Kingdom at Orlando's Disney World and really got involved in the fun.
He sported a fake scar across one cheek and blacked-out eyes as he gamboled happily with his daughters Georgie and Summer.
At one stage, he also made a valiant attempt at getting King Arthur's sword out of the stone.
However, he was spotted by a disgruntled England fan, who told the Sun: "John had more chance of lifting that sword than ever getting his hands on the World Cup."
Oh dear - perhaps given the team's prowess in South Africa, he would have been better wearing a dartboard (for target practice) or a donkey mask!
