The Only Fools and Horses special which saw Del and Rodney sport superhero fancy dress has been voted the most memorable Christmas TV moment ever.
According to a poll by TV channel Gold, 50 per cent of Brits named the scenes broadcast in 1996 as their favourite festive escapade of all-time, beating Wallace and Gromit's The Wrong Trousers into second place.
The episode, entitled Heroes and Villains, involved the hapless Trotters being invited to what they thought was a costume party.
Del sported a Batman fancy dress outfit while Rodney became his sidekick Robin - but they were left red-faced after bursting in to the party, only to find that it was a funeral wake.
Viewers also mentioned the scene in which the brothers had to run through the fog, inadvertently foiling a mugger, as particularly special.
Other TV favourites to make the poll included the 1996 Father Ted episode when the priests ended up lost in a department store's lingerie section and the Vicar of Dibley special from the same year in which Dawn French's character worked her way through four Christmas dinners.
