British actress Rachel Weisz could be set to play a wicked witch in a new movie about Oz before Dorothy got there.
Oz: The Great and Powerful is to be directed by Sam Raimi and will already star James Franco and Mila Kunis.
A Disney story, it will be released in 2013 and tells the story of tha land of Oz from the point of view of Franco, a snake oil salesmen who is carried in his balloon to a mysterious land and discovers he can do magic.
Weisz is reportedly in negotiations to play one of the witches called Evanora, a villain in the tale who wants to rule Oz for herself.
Robert Downey Jr had apparently been in talks to play the Wizard, but negotiations fell through.
This will certainly be a change for Weisz, who has previously played pretty glamorous roles and has never really been a proper Hollywood baddie!
