Star Wars Celebration, Europe 2016

Escapade Fancy Dress are happy to announce that we will be attending the Star Wars Celebration at the ExCel London Exhibition Centre. The event takes place over three days, between Friday 15th June and Sunday 17th June. The Escapade stand number is N317, Level 1 North. Feel free to come on by, say “hello” and check out our Star Wars collection. Children’s tickets have all sold out, as are 3 day adult and Saturday adult tickets. However, there are still some Friday adult and Sunday adult tickets left to grab, so anyone who calls themselves a Star Wars enthusiast ought to make the effort to come down while they can. Tickets are selling fast, though, so you better get them while you can!   escapade at star wars celebration Anyway, onto the details of the event itself (and why us at Escapade are so excited). Well, first of all, the Celebration Stage will be screening Star Wars: A New Hope on Friday 15th July between 20:30 and 23:00, the first two episodes of Star Wars Rebels Season 3 between 16:00 and 18:00 on Saturday 16th July, and Star Wars: The Force Awakens also on Saturday 16th July between 21:00 and 23:00. Moreover, the ...Rebels screening will also be holding a talk with the show’s Executive Producer and Supervising director, Dave Filoni, alongside lots of other special guests. Oh, and speaking of special guests, the celebrations begin with An Hour with Mark Hamill on Friday 15th July between 11:30 and 12:30. Mark will be chatting to the audience and answering their questions, as well as telling us stories from his years in the entertainment business and Star Wars franchise. Sunday morning (17th July, 11:00 - 12:00) sees an equally important character and actor coming to town in Carrie Fisher, who played one of the world’s favourite princesses, Princess Leia. Carrie will be regaling us with stories and insights into the world of Star Wars and her character on- and off- screen. Star-Wars-Celebration-Leias   There will also be lots of Star Wars stars signing autographs on all three days of the Celebration, including Anthony Daniels (C-3PO), Jeremy Bulloch (Boba Fett), Ray Park (Darth Maul), Peter Mayhew (Chewbecca), and many others on separate days. One of the best things about Star Wars is its fans. They are quite the creative bunch, and some of the designs they come up with are jaw-droppingly amazing. The Star Wars Celebration weekend gives fans to show this side of them off. Some of the best handmade, fan-made Star Wars costumes will be seen between 18:00 and 19:30 on Friday 15th July at the Star Wars Celebration Europe Cosplay Championship. Escapade at Star Wars Celebration Those of you worried about not looking the part on the day can order a costume from Escapade online, or come to our stand on the day and buy a special one from us face-to-face. Whilst our online collection will no doubt sate most of your Star Wars costume needs, we will have special items imported from the US which aren’t available from the UK, especially for this event. You won’t find these items online either, so come to us on the day you attend to see our full range. Here is just a sneak peek of some of the items only available at the convention:

There’s lots more creativity on show than just the costumes, though. There’s also a Star Wars Art Show taking place, drawing together some of the best artists from across Europe to display and sell prints of their artwork. Jeff Carlisle, Karen Hallion and Alex Buechel are just a few of the many artists presenting their work throughout the weekend. Should that not be enough creativity for you, there’s also the traditional Biker Scout Helmet Project, which will see one-of-a-kind art pieces inspired by the Star Wars Biker Scout helmets. These helmets are made by some of Europe’s finest creative minds, and they will be on display throughout the Celebration. At the end of the show, they will be auctioned off, and all proceeds will go to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. starw Events-Biker-Scout-Helmet-Project   Is the Star Wars Celebration weekend not jam-packed enough for you? Well then, if you’re a Star Wars toy or Star Wars merchandise collector, then there’s lots on for you too. The Celebration have put on a special Collecting Track program, hosted by uber-collector Gus Lopez and his team. This program is all about the history of Star Wars merchandising, as well as its future. There will also be lots of great tips and tricks given on collecting the best and most sought-after Star Wars toys and merchandise by all sorts of experts on all things LucasFilm, making this show a must for every collector from the hobbyist to the hardcore.   Star Wars Merchandise   Phew … We’d love to carry on, but there’s just so much going on at the Celebration that we can’t possibly fit it all in one article! There’s a Tattoo Pavilion, a Movie Archive Exhibit and even a Pin Trading Program. The only way you could possibly see it all is by coming down and seeing for yourself on the day. Escapade hopes to see you all there. We know you’ll be seeing us!
