    JM Barrie's childhood pal Stuart Gordon lived at Mont Brae in Dumfries and the author regularly went there after school to play with his friends, something he wrote about later in life.

  • The Isle of Wight will be transformed into a mecca for lovers of fairy tale fancy dress this weekend, as Bestival is taking place.

    Known for its emphasis on fun and fancy dress as well as cutting-edge music, the annual four-day event has chosen "fantasy" as its costume theme this year.

  • Pupils at a school in Hounslow have been helping to raise money for a hospital by donning Peter Pan costumes for a record attempt.

    The youngsters dressed up as Peter Pan recently as part of an attempt to smash a Guinness World Record for the highest number of people dressed as the character, the Hounslow Chronicle reports.

    Schools all over the country took part simultaneously, meaning they can pool their numbers in order to break the current record.
