Pupils at a school in Hounslow have been helping to raise money for a hospital by donning Peter Pan costumes for a record attempt.

The youngsters dressed up as Peter Pan recently as part of an attempt to smash a Guinness World Record for the highest number of people dressed as the character, the Hounslow Chronicle reports.

Schools all over the country took part simultaneously, meaning they can pool their numbers in order to break the current record.

Not only this, but the pupils at Victoria Junior School collected sponsor money so they could raise cash for Great Ormond Street Hospital at the same time.

"A lot of effort had been put into the costumes," said proud school spokesperson Ruth Stevens.

The fundraisers are now waiting to hear back from Guinness World Records regarding whether or not their feat was a success.

If you like the idea of dressing up in a Peter Pan costume for your own fancy dress event but are a girl or would rather be a villain, then you could consider opting for Tinkerbell or Captain Hook instead.
