  • A brave cancer survivor is to this year run her fourth marathon - and she is hoping to raise money by sporting fun fancy dress as she does it.

    Tina Grist, 39, will be taking part in the 2011 London Marathon again, but she has also completed the Paris version of the event in the past, the Burton Mail reports.

    The April race will mark three years since she was first diagnosed with ovarian cancer, but she is now in remission and wants to raise money for the Burton CT Scanner Appeal.

  • A fun fancy dress event is set to encourage children and their parents to get fit by doing more walking.

    On Friday (January 28th 2011), pupils at Alderman Leach Primary School in Darlington are to help launch the Great Swapathon, the Northern Echo reports.

    This is an initiative organised by NHS Change4Life and aims to get people to make little changes to their daily routine in order to make them healthier.
