  • Minehead looks forward to fun fancy dress event

    People in Minehead are looking forward to a fun fancy dress event that is set to take place next month in order to raise money for charity.

    According to the Somerset County Gazette, more than 30 teams have already registered for the annual raft race that is to be staged by the Royal National Lifeboat Institute on September 4th 2010.

    Organiser Derek Williams said he is hoping the event will break last year's record of 65 teams competing in the race from the Blue Anchor pub to Minehead.

    People in the north-east of England could find themselves winning a prize if they attend a rugby match in fun fancy dress.

    The Hull Kingston Rovers have announced their first ever Fancy Dress Friday this week (July 9th 2010), an event which is sure to be fun for all the family.

    Not only will there be races for those dressed up prior to the game, matchgoers in costume could be chosen from the crowd to take a kick at goal with the opportunity of scooping £2,500.

  • Fun fancy dress to celebrate life of Frank Sidebottom creator

    He was not a conventional comedian, so it seems fitting that mourners are to attend Chris Sievey's funeral in fun fancy dress.

    The creator of Frank Sidebottom died earlier this month after a short battle with cancer and is to be cremated at Altrincham Crematorium on Friday (July 2nd 2010).

    It is to be a ceremony for close friends and family only, but those attending are invited to don fun fancy dress costumes to send Mr Sievey off in style.
