It has been revealed that Arnold Schwarzenegger is to make a sensational return to the Terminator franchise after completing a stint as the governor of California.
Almost three decades after he starred in the first movie, Arnie will come back to play the cyborg in a fifth instalment directed by Justin Lin.
Despite him no longer being a spring chicken, the movie star told the LA Times he will still make a great action hero.
"I can step very comfortably into the entertainment world and do an action movie with the same violence that I've always done," he commented.
The film is only in its early stages and is being referred to simply as Terminator 5, but there has been speculation that the story would follow on from the third movie rather than the fourth, Rise of the Machines.
The Terminator first hit cinema screens in 1984 and was directed by James Cameron. In 2008, it was selected for preservation in the US National Film Registry for being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant".
