Anyone taking little ones to a church festive service this year could consider putting them in Christmas fancy dress.
The Rev Richard Awre told the Kenilworth Weekly News that he will be hosting a range of services at St Nicholas' church to celebrate the time of year and he loves to see youngsters clad in special costumes.
"These services are very enjoyable for children and we encourage them to get dressed up as characters in the nativity," he added.
Special events in churches all over the country this month are sure to include Christmas Eve meetings and Christingle blessings, which are also popular in schools as a craft activity.
Parents unsure about what to clad their children in could try shepherd fancy dress, or even Wise Men and sheep.
However, with many schools now offering very different nativity stories than a few years ago, costumes like cats and lobsters may be equally acceptable!
