Isle of Wight-based music event Bestival is encouraging its attendees to spend the weekend in fantasy fancy dress costumes.
According to the Times newspaper, the Rob da Bank-curated music festival was one of the first to place an emphasis on fancy dress.
As a result, fancy dress costumers are a common sight at music festivals up and down the country.
However, it is not just the chance to wear fancy dress costumes all weekend which is appealing for people heading to Bestival.
The newspaper said: "The music is as loud and imaginative as the costumes: the Prodigy, Gil Scott Heron, LCD Soundsystem and an eagerly awaited show by the disco icons Chic."
Bestival even has a fancy dress theme, with festivalgoers encouraged to turn up in fantasy-based outfits.
This could include pirates fancy dress, evoking the character of Captain Jack Sparrow from the Pirates of the Caribbean films, or Star Wars fancy dress outfits such as Princess Leia.
