Russell Brand has been spotted wearing superhero fancy dress in New York for his forthcoming film Arthur.The funnyman was photographed in a Batman costume for the remake of the 1980s classic, which tells the story of a drunkard who is forced to marry in order to inherit his fortune.
It also stars Helen Mirren, Jennifer Garner and Luis Guzman, but all eyes were on Brand this week as he leapt about in the costume, which featured some serious abs - and a utility belt filled with hip flasks instead of useful crime-fighting items!
He later posted pictures of himself in his superhero outfit on the microblogging site Twitter.
However, Russ's Batman fancy dress costume is unlikely to impress Mike Gorman, a regular contributor to the fansite 411Mania.com.
He recently complained that the 1997 costume was not a patch on the original because it had nipples.
"For the love of god, can someone explain why Batman would construct a suit to protect himself and then say, 'Yeah, the mofo needs nipples'?" he ranted.
