People heading to Hawkshaw this weekend are likely to see plenty of people in 1960s fancy dress as its annual Gala Day kicks off.
Beginning tomorrow (July 2nd 2010) and going on until Sunday night, the event is sure to be a crowd-pleaser thanks to live music, craft stalls, races and fancy dress competitions.
The organisers recently announced that the theme for 2010 is Flower Power, so hundreds of visitors and villagers are sure to be preparing their costumes ready for a weekend full of fun.
Most of the costumed events take place on Saturday, but feel free to dress up for the entire weekend if you like.
However, it's probably best to remove your Hippie Print Costume if you're thinking of competing in Sunday's fell race.
"Let's think Summer of '69 and it'll hopefully bring the sun out," the official website urges.
The Hawkshaw Gala has been going on since 1977 - in fact, the only year it couldn't take place was 2003, due to Foot and Mouth regulations.
