It may still be a few weeks away, but if you're struggling to organise something fun for a class full of kids to do for the end of the school year, then you could try a children's fancy dress walking bus.

This is what parents and teachers at the Meadows School in Lincoln sorted out recently and it went down a storm, the Lincolnshire Echo reports.

Around 150 children dressed up in colourful costumes and walked to school two by two, stopping to pick up their friends along the way, just like a real bus.

Not only did they have fun and get chocolate drinks when they got to school, they also did their bit for the environment.

"It was lovely and the costumes were great. The children are really environmentally aware and they also try to encourage their parents to let them cycle or walk to school," said headteacher Jo Simmons.

For children's events, Snow White costumes are always a popular choice for little girls.

However, for a really topical outfit for the boys, why not choose Robin Hood fancy dress and form a band of Merry Men?
