Not content with simply dressing up in funny costumes for Comic Relief like everyone else, Chris Moyles has taken fundraising to a new level, breaking a Guinness World Record in the process.

The Radio 1 DJ has taken the prize for the longest marathon radio DJ (team) show, notching up more than 51.5 hours on the air with Comedy Dave Vitty at 08:30 GMT this morning (March 18th 2011).

This smashes the previous Radio 1 record held by Simon Mayo - although it doesn't beat the one for longest ever radio show, which is currently held by an Italian DJ who managed to broadcast non-stop for more than a week.

Chris has been visited by a host of celebrities to keep him going - including Katy Perry, Olly Murs and Paul O'Grady - and has also been allowed five-minute breaks every hour and regular showers.

"I wouldn't recommend it but it was good fun," he told Newsbeat, having raised more than £2 million for Red Nose Day.

Elsewhere, celebs including Alan Carr will be dressing up as Take That for a tribute band called Fake That, which should be worth a watch and a giggle on TV tonight.
