San Diego's annual Comic-Con is once again set to welcome a group of fundraisers in Star Wars fancy dress as part of its line-up.
The event takes place in California this coming weekend and 200 members of the 501st Legion are to make a special appearance in their sci-fi costumes.
All Star Wars enthusiasts, they travel all over the US to take part in parades, visit sick children in hospitals and generally spread happiness while dressed as various characters from the six movies.
Christi Ladnier, 42, told the Associated Press she has spent ages getting her Boba Fett fancy dress outfit ready for Comic-Con, which she described as a "major event".
However, this isn't an easy task, as all costumes have to be vetted by the Legion's standards division to make sure they are good enough first.
Fellow member Lawrence Green said it is all worth it though, as the chance to be an action figure for the day outweighs the arduous preparations.
Comic-Con originally took place just to showcase comic books, but now incorporates horror, anime, collectors' cards and video games.
