Keeley Hawes may be donning a 1960s fancy dress wig soon if she decides to take on a friend's costume party challenge.

In response to a question about what her ideal dressing up costume would be, the Spooks and Ashes to Ashes star told the Guardian she has just been invited to a strangely-themed knees-up by her actor friend Andrew Clover.

"The dress code is Keely Smith, the singer. Bizarre!," Hawes commented.

However, since Clover dresses up in a scary clown costume for Ashes to Ashes, there may be a possibility that some guests choose Halloween fancy dress in homage to his recurring character.

Keely Smith is an American jazz and popular music singer who was popular in the 1950s and 1960s and enjoyed collaborations with the likes of Frank Sinatra.

She also had hits in the UK with I Wish You Love and You're Breaking My Heart, as well as an album of Beatles compositions.
