When it comes to planning a wedding, nobody wants a cliché - Valentine's is a little overdone, people are too busy at Christmas … but embracing Halloween fancy dress for autumnal nuptials could go down a treat.
This is the advice of Stephanie from the Wishpot Wedding Blog, who pointed out that lots of people love Halloween these days and, thanks to its rich colours and quirkiness, it could mean your Big Day is one to remember for all the right reasons.
She recommended choosing pumpkin bowls with the happy couple's initials carved into them for candle holders and favour holders, while gothic glasses were also suggested for an atmospheric touch.
Stephanie acknowledged that while the bride may not want to sport devil fancy dress and other costumes, she could go for something that is still autumnal but also classy - how about a lady vampire outfit?
"Happy planning and happy Halloween!" the expert concluded.
You could also see if you're able to get hold of a gothic castle or haunted mansion for the ceremony or reception - that would create some fantastic after-dinner party games!
