Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part I scooped a prize last night (May 11th 2011) at the National Movie Awards.
The film adaptation of the first part of the final novel won best fantasy at the ceremony, which was held at the O2 Arena in London.
The second part, which is out soon, was also named as the must-see movie of the summer, suggesting that the popularity of the franchise is showing no signs of waning.
Also honoured at the awards was Colin Firth, who won performance of the year for his role in smash hit The King's Speech - there's a man whose mantelpiece must be getting a bit full.
However, Pirates of the Caribbean also got a nod thanks to Johnny Depp who was named screen icon. He was not able to attend because he was too busy with publicity for the fourth film, On Stranger Tides, which is released this month.
Daniel Radcliffe, aka Harry Potter, recently told Total Film the final movie is packed full of action.
