Fans of comic book superhero the Green Lantern are no doubt eager to see Ryan Reynolds kicking some baddies' behinds when the he stars in the new movie that hits our cinema screen soon.
However, he has shown he can be caring as well as heroic, speaking out to raise money for The Michael J Fox Foundation (MJFF) for Parkinson's Research, MTV reports.
Fox is a well-known sufferer of the disease and Reynolds has said he is determined to help the charity's Facebook page reach 100,000 fans by the end of April.
When it does, he will donate $10,000 (£6,104) out of his own pocket to the cause.
"A dedicated supporter of The Michael J Fox Foundation, Ryan Reynolds sits on the MJFF Board of Directors," explained a charity spokesperson.
They added that Reynolds also ran a marathon for the charity in 2008, raising more than $100,000.
The kind-hearted actor recently told comic fans at WonderCon that The Green Lantern isn't as serious as Batman's The Dark Knight, but isn't a comedy either.
