Bride and groom opt for superhero fancy dress at eccentric wedding

Most women would go for a classic gown on their wedding day rather than superhero fancy dress, it's probably safe to say.

However, this was not the case for 40-year-old Sharon Vaughan recently, who dressed up as Wonder Woman to marry sweetheart Neil.

The groom was not exactly traditionally-attired either, since he headed to the altar wearing a Batman fancy dress costume, the Daily Mail reports.

New changes announced for Wonder Woman fancy dress costume

She has been fighting crime in her bustier and hotpants since 1941, but the people at DC Comics have announced changes to the Wonder Woman fancy dress costume we all know and love.

As the 600th Wonder Woman comic hit stores in the US, creator Jim Lee unveiled a new outfit for her, which consisted of black leggings, flatter boots and stirrups reminiscent of the Iron Man costume.

Batman costume from Batman and Robin 'wasn't the greatest reimagining'

The Batman fancy dress costume from 1997's Batman and Robin left a little to be desired when it was compared to the original Batsuit.

This is the opinion of Mike Gorman, writing for fansite 411Mania.com, who said that his main problem with the outfit was the fact that it had nipples.

"For the love of god, can someone explain why Batman would construct a suit to protect himself and then say, 'Yeah, the mofo needs nipples'?" the comic book enthusiast ranted.
