The Hunger Games Announce New Costume DesignerWhile fans of the Hunger Games still await the announcement of new cast members for the trilogies second film The Hunger Games: Catching Fire one thing is for certain, whoever ends up playing the roles will look fantastic. This is because the studio announced this week that one of the most up and coming talents in film costume design Trish Summerville has been announced as the films costume designer. Summerville who was honoured by Hollywood’s Costume Designers Guild last year for her creations in the American version of the Swedish film The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo has become hot property in the costume design world. Summerville started her costume career as a costume assistant on the film Girl Interrupted and later went on to be Christina Aguilera’s personal stylist. After receiving praise for her heroine chic style in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo H&M gave her the opportunity to design her own successful clothing line. Summerville will keep the new designs in line with the original concepts behind the first Hunger Games film and will add her own spin to the rundown costumes of the District 12 inhabitants, the militaristic costumes worn by the Peacekeepers and the decadent and ostentatious outfits worn by the Capitol residents. Spoiler Alert: Fans of Suzanne Collins book series will know Catching Fire revolves around the wedding of Katniss Everdeen and it will be Summerville’s responsibility to create the characters iconic wedding dress, which in the book starts as a standard stylish white wedding dress before catching fire and transforming into a Mockingjay gown. The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is set for release in the UK on November 22nd 2013 and we expect costumes influenced by Trish Summerville's designs to be among the most popular Halloween costumes of 2013.
