The village of Box in Wiltshire is getting ready to swing at the end of the month as they go back to the Summer of Love in Sixties fancy dress.

Its annual Box Revels Fun Day kicks off on May 31st at the Box Recreation Ground and the theme will reflect everything from this fab decade, from the Beatles to the World Cup.

Chairman Mike Curd told the Wiltshire Times he is getting very excited about the event.

"Everyone gets stuck in and has fun while raising money for local worthy causes," he pointed out.

There will be a fancy dress procession, a football tournament to remember when England won the World Cup in '66 and plenty of other activities.

It is hoped that this year's 'do will raise even more than the £1,200 generated in 2009, so go along if you can and join in the fun.

Sixties fancy dress is great fun - if you're a girl, go for short skirts and psychedelic prints.

However, if you're a guy, get in touch with your inner hippy in a Groovin' Man costume , complete with peace signs, and get ready to do the hippy hippy shake!
