Last weekend's opening match may not have gone according to plan, but England's World Cup campaign is still encouraging people around the country to don football fancy dress costumes.

The Derbyshire Times reports that the Macintosh family hosted a fancy dress party at their home in the village Newbold on Saturday (June 12th) to celebrate the start of the World Cup.

Enjoying the occasion with the help of some white and red face paint, England flags and football-themed costumes, party goers assembled to watch Fabio Capello's team draw 1-1 with the USA in South Africa.

The newspaper has asked for any people hosting World Cup parties or similar events in the local area this month to get in touch.

With the next England match coming up on Friday evening, when Capello's side take on Algeria in Cape Town, why not celebrate the football fever with a St George makeup set or sexy referee costume?
