Halloween fancy dress can be something for the whole family to look forward to as the cold nights draw in, one expert has said.
Camilla Chafer, acting editor of TheSchoolRun.com, said it’s good to have something to look forward to with your kids during the often dreary autumn term, especially when it’s too soon to think about Christmas.
“Halloween can be tremendously fun and it certainly doesn't have to be macabre. It's a great time for children to go wild with dressing up as their favourite characters or themes,” she pointed out.
Camilla said it’s perfectly acceptable to kit kids out in Spiderman fancy dress or a Tinkerbell outfit and get them involved in decorating the house with pumpkins, cauldrons and paper chains so they don’t get too frightened.
Tesco recently said that Halloween has overtaken Valentine’s Day in terms of popularity, meaning there should be plenty of costumes on show come October 31st.
